Professor, Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo. Co-director of DLX Design Academy. After working as a researcher at the Ministry of Construction's Building Research Institute, an assistant professor at Musashi Institute of Technology, and a visiting researcher at the University of Reading in the United Kingdom, he has been in his current position since 2001. He has served as Director of the Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo (2009-12) and Vice President of the University of Tokyo (2013-15). In addition to developing research fields related to sustainable architecture, in recent years he has also been engaged in research and development related to IoT and research related to innovation management.
