Kotaro Imai
Professor at the Institute of Industrial Science, The University of Tokyo, and co-director of the DLX Design Academy. After working at the University of Tokyo's Campus Planning Office, he became a lecturer at The University of Tokyo's Institute of Industrial Science in 2007, an associate professor in 2010, and has been in his current position since 2013. Specialises in research on architectural design and urban analysis methods. His works include the IIS Anniversary Hall (S Building) (2013), Chiba Experiment Station Research and Testing Complex (2017) and Mejirodai International Village (2019). In recent years, he has been involved in the research and development of architectural prototype 'PENTA’ using 3D printing and other digital technologies, and in the development of unprecedented building types, such as the design of a tsunami evacuation complex.
